  • Powell will release a new EP on Diagonal Records called Club Music this week. Since debuting with The Ongoing Significance Of Steel & Flesh in 2011, the UK producer has set about cultivating the Diagonal label he runs with Jaime Williams. In addition to his own Body Music EP in 2012, the imprint has put out records by Shit And Shine, Death Comet Crew, Streetwalker, Prostitutes and Russell Haswell among others. Powell released two records in 2013—Fizz and Untitled—but Club Music marks his first appearance on Diagonal in two years. The three-track EP is due out tomorrow, May 8th, and features a collaboration with noise merchant Russell Haswell on B2 cut "Maniac." According to a press release, the record further explores Powell's signature sound, a visceral hybrid of punk, techno and old-school UK club music, with "scrabbling synthesiser dirt, ruffneck drums and vocal samples." Tracklist 01. So We Went Electric 02. No U Turn 03. Maniac feat. Russell Haswell Diagonal will release Club Music on May 8th, 2014.
