Thugfucker, Graze billed for Bass Coast 2014

- The BC festival will return to Merritt for the August long weekend.
- Bass Coast's 2014 edition will again take over Merritt's Nicola Valley for the BC Day long weekend, from August 1st through the 4th. Now in its sixth year, Bass Coast was founded by Liz Thomson, Andrea Helleman and Andrea Graham (aka The Librarian) as a small-scale festival to showcase talent in Western Canada (with an emphasis on bass music, obviously). And though Bass Coast has grown over its short history, with tickets capped at 4000 this year it remains an intimate affair, and one that champions local artists as much as it does international headliners. In terms of the big names, however, 2014 looks to be the most diverse yet. Graze, Thugfucker, Paleman and Montreal's Bordello will hold down the techno and house side of things, while they've also got repeat guest dBridge, dubstep head Commodo and Ottawa group A Tribe Called Red. Bristol's Tony Williams will perform under both his Addison Groove and Headhunter aliases, while Natasha Kmeto will also make a return. Hrdvsion, Sweater Beats and Mixpak's Jubilee have also been billed. As for local Western Canada acts, they've got all the usual suspects in tow—Michael Red, Max Ulis, Taal Mala, Blondtron, Calamalka, Monolithium, Humans, Wax Romeo and Lorne B, among many others. Bass Coast also features a variety of vendors, food trucks and extramusical activities, but details for those aspects of the festival will be announced further down the road.
