  • Severed Heads' 1984 classic "Dead Eyes Opened" is being reissued by Dark Entries in July. The news comes just a day after Medical Records announced the reissue of two Severed Heads albums, Since The Accident and City Slab Horror, which suggests a renewed interest in a long overlooked act. Dark Entries will press up an extended version of "Dead Eyes Opened" along with two other tracks, "Bullet" and "Mount." The record comes with a poster featuring a photo of the band on one side, and liner notes and press clippings on the other. Dark Entries is also reissuing Executive Slacks' self-titled 1983 effort and Xymox's Subsequent Pleasures, records that were both significant to label founder Josh Cheon as teenager (he calls them his "teenage soundtrack"). All three releases will come out on the same day—July 12th—and mark Dark Entries' fifth anniversary. The label is also embarking on a fifth anniversary tour, with dates in Chicago, Detroit, Pittsburgh and New York locked in during July and August.
