  • Zu::Bar has announced it will remain closed for 90 days after a police raid. The Pescara club, which lies at the forefront of the city's electronic scene, was raided by local police on April 5th, in the lead up to an event featuring Slovenian DJ Ian F. According to local newspaper Il Centro, several customers were found in possession of hashish, marijuana and cocaine. The club was also charged with breach of licence: the venue was deemed 39 people over-capacity, and some party-goers were found smoking inside. As well as the temporary closure, the club's owners, Eugenio Laurenzi and Fabio Passeri, were fined €10,000. This is not the first time Zu:Bar has been forced to shut: in 2012 a 33-year old man died outside the venue from a drug overdose. Forthcoming parties with Enrico Mantini and Ben Klock have been cancelled, though Zu::Bar's Easter Zu:Shaman event at the Palacongressi D'abruzzo will go ahead as planned on Monday, April 21st.
