  • Organisers of Beacons Festival have announced a clutch of new names for 2014. Top of the pile is Erol Alkan, the shapeshifting UK selector and Phantasy Sound chief. Other highlights include Joy Orbison, Dan Snaith (as Daphni), Psychemagik, Planet Mu affiliated band John Wizards and the DJ tag-team of Sean Johnston and Andrew Weatherall, who will bring the chugging cosmic disco of their A Love From Outer Space to Beacons. The new artists join previously announced acts like Darkside, Jon Hopkins, Dixon and The Fall at the festival, which runs August 7th through 10th at Funkirk Estate in the Yorkshire Dales.
