  • Cadenza Records chief Luciano is at the helm of a new label called Basaec, with the debut release due out in May. The label will release a mix of older music from the Chilean's archives along with brand new material. The first record (produced under the name Luciaen) features two unheard tracks: "Cadenza," which he made as a 19-year-old, and "Stranger," which dates back to 1997. The tracks were sent as demos to Derrick May's Transmat label, and according to a press release "take their influences from European synth music as well as Detroit techno." Both tunes pre-date the first official Luciano release by a few years. Nine more releases are locked in for Basaec this year, with the first six EPs containing unreleased Luciano tunes from the past ten years that have been "reworked and modified" for 2014. It will run as a separate entity to Cadenza, which recently celebrated its tenth anniversary. Tracklist 01. Cadenza 02. Stranger Basaec will release Cadenza/Stranger on May 19th, 2014.
