- Jelinek has taken on his Farben alias for a ten-track album, due out next month.
Jan Jelinek is readying a remixes album built off material from Dennis Busch's James DIN A4 project.
Farben Presents James DIN A4 brings together two longtime purveyors of abstract electronic music, each of whom has produced under a handful of aliases (this record sees Jelinek working as Farben). Most of Busch's efforts, including a series of James DIN A4 albums, have come by way of his own Esel imprint, while Jelinek has been featured on the likes of ~scape and Klang Elektronik, though Farben appearances have been quite rare in recent years.
Jelinek also runs the label Faitiche, which is where this album will be issued. It was conceived last summer, according to a press release, when Jelinek "remixed his way through [James DIN A4's] extensive oeuvre, and gathered ten of his favorite titles." If you follow either artist, you might have a good idea of what to expect with this one: experimentally-laced beats often centered around a loose, 4/4 pulse. It'll see release in April on a single vinyl LP as well as CD and digital formats. You can try out samples of four tracks below. Tracklist
