- International will come out on Sacred Bones in June.
Lust For Youth will release a new album, International, on June 10th.
Formerly the solo project of Danish producer Hannes Norrvide, Lust For Youth is now a trio featuring Loke Rahbek (who has been collaborating with Norrvide live for a while now) and Maithe Fisher, who plays guitar and adds additional production touches. The LP is described by label Sacred Bones as "unrecognizable as a Lust For Youth record on first listen." Reportedly brighter and much catchier than their past work, the record takes inspiration from peak-era Pet Shop Boys, Depeche Mode and New Order, according to the press release.
"The record sort of happened by chance," explains Rahbek. "Initially, we were just going to do a song or two, but within a few weeks it was obvious that it was a combination that worked. The period was strange. Terrible things happened in everyone’s life outside of the studio, so as a result many hours were spent in the studio, like a safe zone.”
Informed by "the impossibility of living a regular life," International also features production help from Iceage's Elias Bender Rønnenfelt and Lower's Adrian Toubro. The deluxe version of International will come packed with a cassette that features remixes from Helm, Silent Servant, Total Control and a handful of others. You can stream album opener "Epoetin Alfa" below.
