Tom Trago brings The Light Fantastic to North America

- The Dutch producer will tour the continent in support of his recent album, starting this week.
- Tom Trago will head on a tour of North America starting this Thursday in Miami. The Dutch producer specializes in a classicist, Chicago-inflected take on house, which he's fleshed out over three albums and countless EPs for Rush Hour. He also runs that label's subsidiary Voyage Direct, and has more recently collaborated with Bok Bok for another imprint called Night Voyage. Traveling under the banner "The Light Fantastic," the journey will support Trago's latest LP of the same name, which was released late last year and was described as "an album that wears its influences proudly, but fashions them into undeniably Dutch forms" by RA's Tom Banham in a review at the time. The sojourn is by some margin Trago's most comprehensive visit across the pond, coming after only a handful of American dates since 2010. He'll start it off on Thursday in Miami, followed by a Rush Hour label night at Output and a gig in Pennsylvania. He has two appearances scheduled at SXSW—another Rush Hour showcase and an APA party—before he heads to the West Coast for events in SF and LA (where he'll open for John Digweed). Two dates at WMC—one with Juan Maclean and one at Born Electric's shindig—and a night at Chicago's Spybar make up the next leg before he heads down to Texas again (this time in El Paso). Trago will make his first Canadian appearance of the tour at Shine in Vancouver, followed by shows in Las Vegas, Toronto, Detroit and finally yet another appearance in Miami, on April 12th, this time a headlining slot at The Electric Pickle.
