  • Spotify and Ministry Of Sound have settled a legal dispute over playlists. As the BBC report, a joint statement released by both companies says they've come to an "amicable agreement" after Ministry Of Sound sued Spotify for refusing to delete user playlists that resembled their official compilations, which they claimed was a breach of copyright. The BBC article says playlists that mimic official Ministry Of Sound compilations will not be deleted from Spotify, but will be removed from its search engine, and users will not be able to follow the playlists. "Ministry Of Sound welcomes Spotify's willingness to work together to reach an agreement," says Ministry Of Sound Group CEO Lohan Presencer, who originally suggested attempts to negotiate had been met with a "brick wall." "Spotify and Ministry Of Sound are pleased to have reached a resolution on amicable terms," added Spotify's head of licensing business affairs, James Duffett-Smith.
