  • Veronica Vasicka's Minimal Wave have announced plans to reissue Soma Holiday's 1984 track "Shake Your Molecules." The duo of Jean-Marc Vallod and Jane Honicker were based in Brooklyn in the mid-'80s. Shake Your Molecules was recorded at Unique Studios in Manhattan—apparently the first studio in the city with MIDI capabilities. In New York Vallod and Honicker worked with Arthur Baker protégé Jay Burnett, who later went on to collaborate with Adam Yauch of The Beastie Boys. Minimal Wave describe the EP as "quintessential NYC electro/hip-hop sound infused with French New Wave." The record comes packed in a glossy sleeve with photo inserts and liner noted written by Vallod.
