- Eight of the LA producer's minimal wave and noise experiments will come out via the Boomkat-affiliated label.
Delroy Edwards will release a mini-album on The Death Of Rave in March.
The LA producer's first full-length contains nods to "minimal wave, noise, EBM, and black metal" according to a Boomkat press release, marking a deviation from his previous house and ghetto house outings for L.I.E.S. and his own label, L.A. Club Resource. Teenage Tapes gets its title from the guitar pedal and reel-to-reel experiments Edwards recorded to tape at art college, which make up half of the album. The other half features newer material made with a SH-101 synth and drum machine that "didn’t quite fit in with his pounding DJ tools."
To date The Death Of Rave has released 12-inches from Mark Leckey, Merzbow, Kareem and Powell. Teenage Tapes will be limited to 500 vinyl copies, some of which will be pressed on clear vinyl. Forty copies selected at random contain a 22-page A5 booklet. Though the official release date is listed as March 3rd, it's already on sale via Boomkat.
