  • Tim DeWit (of Gang Gang Dance fame) will release a new mixtape as Dutch E Germ through UNO in March. Dutch E Germ is the name that Tim DeWit, one of the original founding members of American dance-rock band Gang Gang Dance, has been using for his recent solo material. The alias first appeared in 2012, after a near-fatal gunshot wound from a robbery in Michigan a few years before left him unable to perform with the band. After leaving to focus on his own production work, he's been a key player at NYC's Ghe20 G0th1k parties, made music for fashion runways and was sampled by Kanye West for last year's Yeezus album. IN.RAK.DUST is his most full-fledged solo release to date (in addition to some film soundtracking), showing off a bright and synth-heavy sound that takes in hip-hop, techno and downtempo over its rather diverse 11 tracks. You can get a feel for his music with his Hood By Air fashion runway score below, or his remix of Mas Ysa's "Years" here.
