  • Subspec and Eternal Drive Recordings will host pre-parties for Movement 2014 in Vancouver this spring. Every year in the lead-up to the Detroit festival, different cities host parties highlighting some of the artists booked for Movement, and 2014 seems to be one of the busiest years yet. Both Vancouver instalments will be organized by Subspec founders and Vancouver techno staples JGarrett and Jay Zoney (who will also play at each event). First up, on March 7th, they've got Droid Behavior associate Drumcell and Detroit-based Blank Code act Project 313 headlining the party at Chapel Arts, with extra local support from DJ Noah, DE Radio will assist in putting on that show. Rennie Foster and Marc Gerrard. Then, on May 3rd, just a few weeks before Movement itself, another LA-based Droid Behavior outfit—this time duo Raiz—will play alongside Toronto's Symplx. That one will go down at Open Studios.
