- The seminal grime label will relaunch with a new EP from the London producer and MC in March.
Prince Rapid will release Turning Point on March 31st.
The foundational grime label and collective received a raft of newfound attention and interest last year with the retrospective CD White Label Classics on No Hats No Hoods. Now r that wave, they've relaunched under the name Ruff Sqwad Entertainment, and the first drop on the new label will come from core member Prince Rapid, who produces and raps over his own beats on Turning Point (with some help from Heavy Trackers and Teddy). MCs Lil Nasty, Ghetts, Tinchy Strider, JME and more join him to spit bars over the seven-tracker, which is an "homage to hip hop, electronica and Ghanaian influences as well as the grime roots where his career all began," according to the press release. "I've experienced some success whilst working behind the scenes for other people," Rapid is quoted as saying, "but now, I'm ready to show the world me, my growth and who I've become.
