  • Lindstrøm has worked with Todd Rundgren and Emil Nikolaisen (of Serena-Maneesh) on a new album out this summer on Smalltown Supersound. While this particular set of collaborators might seem odd at first glance, it's not the first time Norwegian producer Hans-Peter Lindstrøm has worked with eccentric rocker Rundgren—he remixed Lindstrøm's "Quiet Place To Live" back in 2012, and he's also a childhood idol for the space disco heavyweight. The two joined up with 4AD-signed band Serena-Maneesh member Nikolaisen for a studio session in Oslo with no clear agenda. Inspiration struck, and the trio worked on their track for further sessions in Hawaii, developing it into a full album-length piece where "individual musical personalities [melt] into each other in a truly fascinating way" over 40 minutes, according to the press release. Runddans' release will be followed by a tour of Europe later on in the summer. Smalltown Supersound will release Runddans in summer 2014.
