  • Rio Music Conference has released full details of this year's event, starting on February 19th. Inaugurated in 2009, RMC now stands as the biggest gathering of its kind in Latin America. Staged during carnival season, the event is split into two sections: the business fair, talks and workshops will take place at the Hotel Pestana in Copacabana from February 19th through 21st, while February 22nd through March 4th will see the festival leg take root at Rio's picturesque Marina da Glória. Although the music will cater exclusively to more commercial tastes, the likes of Nick De Cosemo (editor of Mixmag), Bill Kelly (founder of WMC), Irfan van Ewijk (co-founder of ID&T), Simone Tettero (head of production at ADE) and RA's Grego O'Halloran have all been lined up for panel appearances. As ever, there will be a strong local presence at the conference, with 50 industry professionals set to participate. In 2013, RMC played host to an estimated 35,000 people.
