Weather Festival announces first names for 2014

  • The second Weather festival will take place in Paris from June 6th through 9th. Organisers have revealed the first batch of names to perform in 2014 (check the review of the first edition here). It will kick off on Friday, June 6th, with Mount Kimbie, Underground Resistance's Timeline band and The Moritz Von Oswald Trio (with Tony Allen and Max Loderbauer) performing live at the outdoor Institut Du Monde Arabe from 6PM. The nighttime revelry begins at midnight, with Apollonia playing a seven-hour set at Concrete's Port De La Rapée HQ. Satellite events will also go down at Batofar, Rex Club and La Machine Du Moulin Rouge, though details of those are still TBA. The festival continues on Saturday, June 7th, with 22 hours non-stop action. There will be four stages—two outdoor, two indoor—at Parc Des Expositions Du Bourget, with a house and techno-heavy bill that includes Ben Klock, Marcel Dettmann, Ricardo Villalobos, Francois X, Len Faki, Chris Liebing, Moodymann, Soundstream, Floating Points, DJ Deep, Luke Slater (playing live as Planetary Assault Systems), Trade (Blawan and Surgeon), Marcel Fengler, Donato Dozzy, Rødhåd, Margaret Dygas, Motor City Drum Ensemble, RPR Soundsystem (Raresh, Petre Inspirescu and Rhadoo), Seth Troxler and Derrick May, who starred in the festival's teaser video that's available to watch below. The lineup for Sunday, June 8th, will be announced at a later date. Detroit house supergroup Three Chairs have been confirmed for the festival's closing bash on Monday the 9th.
