New York noise artist Pharmakon will play three shows in the US with Godflesh and Cut Hands this April.
Born Margaret Chardiet, she's been performing and recording as Pharmakon for over five years, but before that she was an important member of the Red Light District crew which drove her to make the most extreme and challenging art she could muster. Her debut album, last year's Abandon on Sacred Bones, showed her taking her music down an ultra-heavy route inspired by industrial music and metal (among many other things), and now she'll take that sound on tour. Chardiet will be joined by Godflesh, a long-running metal band with Justin Broadrick (a pioneering artist in the field whom you might also know as Jesu), responsible for classic albums like 1989's Streetcleaner, as well as Blackest Ever Black's Cut Hands, which is a newer project from Whitehouse man William Bennett.
The three acts will play as many gigs together in mid-April. On the 10th, they'll hit NYC's Irving Plaza, and then Philly's Theater Of Living Arts the next night. Then, on the 13th, their short jaunt will wrap up in Boston at Royale.
