  • Luke Vibert is readying his first album since 2009, Ridmik, for release in March 2014. Vibert has been pushing the boundaries of electronic music since the '90s, producing reams of music under his own name as well as a wide array of aliases that include Wagon Christ, Plug, Butler Kiev, Kerrier District and plenty more. He's had records on labels like Ninja Tune, Rephlex, Warp, Planet Mu and Mo Wax, and Ridmik will be his debut for Hypercolour, which only recently got into the album game with an LP from Kris Wadsworth. The new one is heavy on the Roland TB-303, the legendary piece of hardware which spawned acid house (and it's not his first flirtation with the genre), and is reportedly inspired by the collection of obscure and archival music that he dug up last year. The label call the record "a playground of analogue machines," but maintain that Ridmik isn't merely a retro affair, instead switching up tempos and styles across its 11-track run. Tracklist 01. Ridmik 02. Stabs Of Regret 03. Six Eight 04. Acid Jacket 05. Acrobot 06. Acage 07. Overstand Me 08. CS303 09. Proper Gander 10. Double Dipped Acid 11. Vortek Hypercolour will release Ridmik in March 2014.
