  • LA design firm Weltenbuerger is behind a new party in LA called Soulseek, which happens every second and fourth Wednesday of the month. The event, named for the once popular peer-to-peer filesharing app, was first held on December 11th, meant to "pursue a narrative of underground dance music extending from West African rhythms to throbbing post-industrial resonances" in their own words. Every Soulseek party features Weltenbuerger affiliates Fuxus and Bryan Sanderson, and it became a regular concern with the second one, which took place earlier this month. Soulseek happens at The Lash in downtown LA, and entry for every gig is free. The two selectors promise special guests in the future, but for now, the February parties will feature just them—but they have pretty wide musical tastes, judging from the latest entry in their podcast series.
