- The promising Berlin artist will release Rivers Of The Red Planet on April 7th.
Tartelet Records will release the debut album from Berlin native Max Graef in April.
Though he only released his first EP in 2013, Graef's loose, smoky style of house—which also contains heavy nods to hip-hop and jazz—has already appeared on labels like Melbourne Deepcast, Sleazy Beats, Tartelet and his own Box Aus Holz. Tartelet will release Graef's first full-length, Rivers Of The Red Planet, which sounds like it "could have been recorded through the smoke at a jazz club, in the booth at a techno club 30 years from now, or inside an MPC stocked with crusty dollar-bin samples," according to a press release. Graef played drums, Rhodes and synths on the LP, while Nigerian singer Wayne Snow also features. You can listen to clips of the album's 16 tracks over on the Rivers Of The Red Planet website.
