  • Danilo Plessow and Marcus Worgull have revealed details of a new collaborative project called Vermont, with an album due out via Kompakt on March 17th. Both artists are known primarily for making house music: Worgull's productions are synonymous with the Innervisions crew, while Danilo Plessow has been putting out deep and jazz-inflected cuts as Motor City Drum Ensemble since 2007. The Vermont project, however, sees them dip into ambient kosmische territory. The album was recorded in Plessow's former studio in Cologne and, according to Kompakt, was the result of several "loose jam sessions" conducted without any aesthetic goal in mind. It features contributions from krautrock artists Dominik Von Senger (who plays guitar on three tracks) and Can drummer Jaki Liebezeit, who takes care of percussion on two songs. Irish violinist Dermot O'Mahony also guests, as does political activist Lena Willikens, who plays theremin on "Lithium." Vermont will be released on 180gm vinyl accompanied by a CD version and a bonus 7-inch. It'll be the first time both artists have appeared on Kompakt. Tracklist 01. Yaiza 02. Rückzug 03.
