  • Doug Lee has joined Minimal Wave offshoot Cititrax, with an EP called Kino-i due out in early February. The record will see Lee debut his analogue-focused An-i project. The Berlin-based New Yorker has previously worked under the name Lee Douglas, as well as TBD (with Justin Vandervolgen) and Bad News with L.I.E.S. founder Ron Morelli. According to Cititrax, Kino-i showcases Lee's love affair with machines and "fronts a hard hitting sound beyond category, moving from techno to jack to punk and to noise." You can check out clips of all three tracks on the EP over at the Minimal Wave website. As usual with Minimal Wave-related releases, plenty of attention has been paid to packaging: the EP will be pressed to heavyweight yellow vinyl with a glossy black and white sleeve. Tracklist 01. Kino I (mix) 02. Kino I (dub) 03. Kino I (beats) Cititrax will release Kino-i in February 2014.
