Nils Frahm heads up initial MUTEK.ES lineup

- MUTEK.ES has released the first batch of names for their 2014 edition, which runs March 5th through 8th in Barcelona. The "International Festival For Digital Creativity And Electronic Music"—with its flagship event in Montreal, a Mexico City edition called MUTEK.MX and their Spanish edition—turns fifteen this year. The organizers say they're plotting out this fifth edition of MUTEK.ES "to transmit the spirit and aims" of the festival family as a whole. Nils Frahm, whose current live incarnation debuted at MUTEK in Montreal earlier this year, heads up this initial announcement. Deadbeat will play with Tikiman and also anchor the festival's workshop series, which will be fully announced early next year. Kode9, Laurel Halo and Scratcha DVA have all been confirmed for a 10 Years Of Hyperdub showcase. Marcel Dettmann and Andy Stott round out this batch of performers, which should be expanded in January. As usual, the festival's headquarters will be at the Convent Sant Augustí, with Moog and Nitsa Club housing the nighttime offerings.
