  • Movement 2014 has revealed the first handful of performers slated to play its ninth year, taking place in Detroit over Memorial Day Weekend. As usual, Movement will take over the downtown area's Hart Plaza for a three-day event from Saturday through Monday, starting on May 24th. The first wave of performers features the usual mix of local Detroit staples and a handful of international artists. There's no info on the festival layout yet, but usually there are five stages spread around the site. Jeff Mills, Richie Hawtin, Anthony 'Shake' Shakir, Eddie Fowlkes, Kenny Larkin, Carl Craig, Mike Huckaby and Stacey Pullen are among the hometown heroes, while Dixon (our #1 DJ of the year), Carl Cox, Simian Mobile Disco, Pete Tong, Chris Liebing and Tale Of Us make up some of the big-ticket talent from elsewhere. Other highlights include Lucy (after being forced to cancel last year) collaborating with Speedy J as Zeitgeber, Justin Martin, Dustin Zahn, Jamie Jones and Damian Lazarus. A handful of live performers have been announced as well—Black Asteroid, Adam X, Brian Sanhaji and Octave One will lay down the techno, along with American disco duo Metro Area.
