50 Weapons have revealed details of a two-disc remix CD, due out in January 2014.
Most of 50WEAPONSRMX01-09 comprises previously released remixes, dating back to 2009, though there are also three unreleased efforts and another (DJ Friction's remix of Addison Groove and Sam Binga's "Rzor") that's been licensed from Shogun Audio. The first disc opens with the much-loved Shackleton remix of Moderat's "Rusty Nails," and continues with re-rubs from the likes of T++, Robert Hood, Bambounou, Truncate and Marcel Dettmann. The second disc contains seven remixes released in 2013, from Lee Gamble, Anstam, Legowelt, Miles Whittaker, Head High and Dettmann, as well as unreleased reworks of Cosmin TRG, Benjamin Damage and Moderat.
The label says that 50WEAPONSRMX01-09 will cap a year in which they've focused more on the single format than albums. In 2014, however, the focus will be on full-lengths, with "many strong ones are already lined up."
