  • Pittsburgh's monthly Honcho series has revealed the guests for its next four parties. Honcho happens at Hot Mass, a Saturday-night, Sunday-morning afterhours venue that last weekend celebrated one year in operation. Aaron Clark, one of the founders of Honcho and an all-around scene fixture in Pittsburgh, explains: "This is the one party there that is targeted towards homo dudes, with a focus on underground music from queer DJs and producers who are either making waves with their music, or with other queer parties they're doing in their own cities." The series counts among its previous guests Mike Servito, Honey Soundsystem and Horse Meat Disco. It'll be the Pittsburgh debut for each of the next four headliners, starting this weekend with seasoned Edinburgh-based house selector Prosumer. January's party will feature another DJ hailing from across the pond, Mr. Ties, known for his wide-ranging sets at Berlin's Homopatik party (he was the subject of an RA feature back in May). In February, NYC DJ Michael Magnan, a resident at 11:11 and Club Shade, will swing through for a set, and Carlos Souffront of Interdimensional Transmissions—from Detroit but now living in San Francisco—will top the bill at March's party. Support at each night will come from Clark and fellow resident and co-founder Edgar Um. For a closer look at the party, check out Clark's recent interview and "Head Honcho" mix for Butt Magazine.
