Invisible City and Tako will also play at various spots around the country this weekend.
Brian Shimkovitz, AKA Awesome Tapes From Africa, will return to Australia to play four shows this weekend.
The American collector has spent years digging up ultra-rare cassettes of African music and sharing his finds through the ATFA blog, label and DJ sets. After visiting back in January, Shimkovitz is now heading back to the country to play a set of four Australian dates, beginning with a show at Adelaide's Rocket Bar on November 21st along with Shaolin Afronauts, Crown Ruler Sound System and Medhi. The following night he heads to Perth for a gig at Geisha, where he'll meet up with fellow afro-digging duo Invisible City Sound System as well as Melbourne's Michael Ozone, before heading to Goodgod Small Club in Sydney on the 23rd for a triple-bill Noise In My Head party with ATFA, Invisible City and Redlight Records man Tako. The final show, again featuring all three acts, will be Discolypso at Melbourne Music Week's pop-up hub, The Residence. The free event starts at midday and also includes local acts Andras Fox, Julien Love and No Zu.
