  • Seattle's Electric Tea Garden will throw its last-ever party (and Shameless Social) on November 23rd. The Garden has been a fixture of Seattle's nightlife for years now, one of the city's premiere spots for techno as well as a notorious afterhours venue, housed in an apartment above an artificial limb shop. The shuttering comes in the face of rapid redevelopment and gentrification of the Capitol Hill area, and it coincides with the closure of another well-known bar in the Pike/Pine corridor, dive bar The Comet. Shameless—taking place on the fourth Saturday of every month—has been one of ETG's key parties over the years, so it's fitting that they'll be at the helm for the bittersweet occasion. Eugene, Oregon's Luke Mandala will headline along with Portland's Bad Pioneer, and residents Joe Bellingham, Adlib, Gato Negro and Recess will back them up. The party also coincides with the launch of the promoter's new label, Shameless Audio. Shameless parties will move to Re-Bar—another staple of Seattle's alternative club scene—starting with the next party on December 28th (details TBA).
