  • LA's Far Away series will celebrate one year in business on Friday, November 22nd. Prior guests at the party—the events offshoot of the Far Away podcast—include Blondes, Pat Mahoney, Beautiful Swimmers and Wolfy. For the upcoming anniversary event, Far Away #008, two New York-based DJs will be flying over to co-headline: Kim Ann Foxman, formerly of Hercules & Love Affair but now busy with her own solo DJ and production pursuits, and Mike Servito, a resident at The Bunker. Sage Caswell, an LA local who (with Cromie) produced the first record on the new Brooklyn imprint Peach, will also play a set. Far Away's Cooper Saver will open. As usual, the location is TBA, and an RSVP is necessary for entry. This will be the last event for Far Away in 2013. The series is due to return next year on a bi-monthly basis, starting in January with Beats In Space man Tim Sweeney—though further details for that one have yet to be revealed. Ahead of Far Away #008, you can check out a new mix from Saver to get an idea of the resident's warmup selections.
