- Anthony Parasole's label has lined up its next three releases.
The Corner has revealed its upcoming batch of releases.
Started by New Yorker Anthony Parasole last year, The Corner specializes in street-tough house and techno in an attempt to recapture the gritty glory of pre-gentrification Brooklyn. So far the label's had releases from Parasole himself, collaborator Phil Moffa, Fred P and more, and the next three EPs—numbers six through eight—add two new artists to the roster.
First up is UK techno producer Tom Dicicco with the No Sympathy EP. If you're unfamiliar, he's had darkly-tinted releases on the likes of Traut and Project Squared, and he also runs Inner Surface Music. A three-tracker from Parasole & Moffa called Pressure will follow that one, and then Adam X—a pillar of the Brooklyn techno scene for decades—will make his debut on the imprint with Where Were You In '92, under the alias X-Crashed (presumably a throwback to his X-Crash project with Jimmy Crash in the early '90s). There's no word on what it'll sound like aside from Parasole's claim that it's "straight fire," but chances are it will be techno of the harder variety.
According to Juno Plus, Dicicco's EP will hit on November 18th, with release dates for the others still TBA. For further reading, check Jordan Rothlein's label of the month profile on The Corner from back in April.
