Several producers have remixed tracks from Function's debut album, Incubation, for release on Ostgut Ton.
Remixes features reworks from four of Function's techno brethren: Rrose, Vatican Shadow, Recondite and nsi. (AKA the duo of Max Loderbauer and Tobias Freund, the latter of whom mixed down Incubation). Each has remixed a track from Function's debut full-length, which came out back in March and was described as "an album that lures you into dark places in your brain rather than moving your body on the dance floor" in an RA review. The results will be released on an EP that's spread across two plates of wax.
The record will be Ostgut Ton's final transmission for 2013. The Berghain/Panorama Bar-affiliated label has enjoyed a busy 2013, overseeing albums from Function, L.B. Dub Corp and Marcel Fengler, a mix from Steffi, the Masse ballet score, EPs from the likes of Rolando and a small compilation called Various. The label also revealed that Ostgut will return in early 2014 with a Marcel Fengler remixes EP.
