  • Appleblim has started a new label called Pipped. Apple Pips, which was founded by Bristol producer Laurie Osborne back in 2008, became one of the city's most mercurial labels (and an unofficial successor of sorts to Skull Disco), chronicling the dubstep crossover with artists as diverse as T++, Ramadanman and Instra:mental. In recent years Apple Pips has moved beyond dubstep towards more straightforward techno and house—see especially recent singles by Appleblim himself and Behling & Simpson. According to Juno Plus, Pipped is meant to "explore new avenues and directions & get some exciting sounds out there quicker"—which presumably makes it a more quick-and-dirty counterpart to its namesake. The first release is a single-sided 12-inch featuring Prins Thomas remixing "Silencio," a collaboration between Osborne and Komonazmuk that landed earlier this year. You can hear a sample of the "remiks" here. Tracklist A Komon & Appleblim - Silencio (Prins Thomas Remiks) Pipped will release "Silencio (Prins Thomas Remiks)" on November 4th, 2013.
