YYYNYC launches with Ivan Smagghe

- The new monthly will take place in Manhattan, starting at the end of this month.
- A new Manhattan monthly called YYYNYC will start on October 26th. The party is an endeavour from a grip of NYC locals that includes promoters The Good Kids (whose pedigree includes events at Le Bain and Brooklyn warehouse parties), Nick The Duke, stylist and video director Lil Government. There's not much of a hint as to what the musical programming will be like, but judging from the first event—with French oddball Ivan Smagghe, unpredictable Toronto duo Jokers of the Scene and social media jester Lil Internet—it'll be pretty eclectic. (The party's mission statement says the YYYNYC experience is "a single throbbing thread connecting the great nights of the past with the best nights of the future... a retelling of the story of what nightlife means, redefined for 2013 and beyond.")
