- Glittervoice, out in November, will see the Canadian producer take in trance and old school techno.
Jesse Somfay will release another album as Borealis on November 18th.
The Ontario producer has a history of emotive and heavily melodic techno that has been compared to the signature sound of labels like Border Community and Traum. Last year he debuted his new alias, Borealis, and the resulting Voidness LP explored the darker side of his palette. Glittervoice follows almost exactly a year later, and sees things brightening up a bit.
The record blends Somfay's signature ambient leanings with heavy influence from classic trance—what the press release calls "everything from visceral techno to stylish ambient compositions via rapid hypnotic drum loops and trance synths of cosmic proportions." Like the last Borealis album, Glittervoice will see release through Romanian label Origami Sound.
