  • Dais Records will issue a new LP of COUM Transmissions recordings on October 29th. COUM Transmissions was founded by Throbbing Gristle frontman Genesis P-Orridge in Hull in 1969, and for all intents and purposes the collective was a precursor to the band that P-Orridge would start later on in the decade. Known for their "openly confrontational and subversive" audiovisual performances, the shifting lineup eventually included other Throbbing Gristle members as well as John Shapiro. Home Aged & The 18 Month Hope is the latest in a series of albums by the label meant to chronicle the collective via rare and sometimes previously unheard recordings. This one features poetry readings, field recordings and piano and violin pieces from P-Orridge. There's also a performance by the group opening for Hawkwind in 1971, where they performed as Edna And The Great Surfers—you can stream an excerpt of that show here. No full tracklist has been announced yet. Dais Records will release Home Aged & The 18 Month Hope on October 29th, 2013.
