  • London imprint Emotional Response will launch a new sublabel called Especial this month. Overseen by Stuart Leath, Emotional Response already has a reissue-focused sister label called Emotional Rescue, and launched an offshoot earlier this year called Emotional Relish in collaboration with Relish Recordings chief Headman. This latest venture will be "not nu-disco in anyway, or house, but something in between," according to Leath. The first record comes from Cage & Aviary man Jamie Paton, while the second is helmed by Baris K, with remixes from Khidja & Balabas and The Asphodells, AKA Andrew Weatherall and Timothy J. Fairplay. The sublabel will also release a collaborative EP from Richard Sen and Scott Fraser in the coming months, as well as a "ten-minute 303 monster" from Andy Blake and Fairplay. The first two releases have been floating around on sale as white labels for a month or so, but they'll be given official releases with full sleeves this month. You can listen to snippets of all four tracks from EES001 over at Especial's SoundCloud page. Tracklist EES001: A1 Bizarre Feeling A2 Bizarre Dub Feeling B1 To The Light B2 Ju Know EES002: A1 200 A2 200 (Khidja & Balabas Remix) B1 200 (Asphodells Remix) B2 200 (Asphodells Dub) Emotional Response will release EES001 in October 2013.
