  • A new club in Miami called Trade will open next weekend. The space that Trade is taking over was previously known as Club Liquid. Trade will be located on the top floor of the building (a bar on the lower floor has the same owners), with a press release describing "a fully functional and versatile 7,500 square foot venue built around music and the people that love it." To that end, it'll boast an EAW speaker system with Powersoft K amplifiers, and a "state of the art lighting system." Events will be presented in collaboration with plenty of local crews and promoters, including Aquabooty, SAFE, The Electric Pickle, PL0T, Un_Mute Presents, Minimax and Slap&Tickle. Next Friday the club will open with the first edition of a new series called Shoot The Freak. House and disco veterans Thugfucker, along with Sofia favorite KiNK (playing live), are the night's guests, with Alejandro Sab handling local support. The party will run until 5 AM, with an open bar available from 11 PM to midnight. A press sheet for STF promises "a true bullshit-free zone of communication and expression" and says this regarding entry: "Door policy? We don't knowingly admit bigots. Dress code? Wear your best smile." Trade has also revealed two residents, Ryan Elliott and Cajmere, and planned upcoming appearances from DJ Harvey and Satoshi Tomiie—though further event details are still TBA. In the meantime, tickets to Shoot The Freak next Friday are available here on RA.
