- The Berlin-based duo will mark a decade in the game with an album and three EPs.
Exercise One will release a new album called Tales Of Ordinary Madness on November 4th.
The LP, whose title is a nod to a Charles Bukowski book of the same name, is being released to mark ten years of Marco Freivogel and Ingo Gansera's live techno project. It will be accompanied by three EPs, featuring tracks from the album alongside remixes of the duo's back catalogue from some of their close musical friends, including Donato Dozzy, Deadbeat, Sigha, Ewan Pearson and Peter Van Hoesen.
Freivogel and Gansera told RA that the album's tracks were "written in a very different context to our first album [2009's In Cars We Rust]," with a greater emphasis on analogue equipment. "We also approached it with more focus on the mood, the drive and the atmosphere, and we feel we succeeded in transforming that into the sound of the album," they say. "Purely sonically speaking it is clearly more 'classic' as this time around we had much nicer machines at our disposal."
You can get a taste of the album below, with "Gatium" streaming in full. The album will be released through the duo's own Exone label on November 4th, with the three EPs landing on October 8th, November 4th and December 5th respectively.
