  • Dopplereffekt will end their six-year production hiatus with a new EP called Tetrahymena, due out September 30th. Dopplereffekt is Drexciya co-founder Gerald Donald (AKA Heinrich Müller) and an unidentified female partner. Since forming in 1995, they've put out a number of cold, funky electro records complemented by stark Soviet imagery and an obsession for physics. Their last release was 2007's Calabi Yau Space for Aphex Twin's Rephlex label—the same year saw Clone reissue their 1999 opus Gesamtkunstwerk—and in the period since then they've occasionally toured the US and UK. Tetrahymena will see release on Leisure System, the Berlin based clubnight/label that holds a residency at Berghain and has previously put out records from JETS and Visionist among others. Dopplereffekt have two live shows locked in to mark the release: a slot at Leisure System's party in Amsterdam on September 27th, and a gig for Bloc in London the following night. Tracklist 01. Tetrahymena 02. Gene Silencing 03. Zygote Leisure System will release Tetrahymena on September 30th, 2013.
