  • Because Music have unveiled a new compilation called Cosmic Machine: A Voyage Across French Cosmic & Electronic Avantgarde (1970-1980). The album will collect artifacts from the French electronic music scene throughout the 1970s, chronicling an era "when the synthesizer was man's best friend and when the future had a future" according to the press release. Cosmic Machine is meant to shed light on a country that the label claims is often neglected in electronic music history, overshadowed by the contemporary German and American electronic music communities. Featuring everything from the spacey drift of Jean-Michel Jarre to the pumping disco of Cerrone, the record looks to be quite a mixed bag of material. Serge Gainsbourg, Bernard Fevre and François de Roubaix are among the others included on the 20-track LP. A remix single will precede the release of the album, and a Prins Thomas remix of Frederic Mercier is up for streaming here. Tracklist 01. Patrick Juvet - Le Reve 02. Didier Marouani - Temps X 03.
