Natasha Kmeto kicks off fall tour

- The Portland-based producer and singer will tour solo and with Lapalux through September and October.
- Natasha Kmeto will tour the US and Canada through September and October in support of her new album. Kmeto has been a stalwart of Portland's music scene for while now, as well as a core member of that city's Dropping Gems crew, which generally trades in chilled-out, hip-hop inspired beats. Her work has always been a little more assertive, particularly recently, taking in everything from dubstep to footwork and putting her own live vocals on top of it all. She just released a new album on Dropping Gems earlier this year, Crisis, which our review described as "tempestuous and passionate." Before she begins her adventure, Kmeto has two dates in her home city: one tonight at the MusicFest NW, and one at PDneXt, the club night that she helps to run, on September 11th. Her starts in earnest on September 24th with UK beatsmith Lapalux, landing first in Vancouver and Calgary before playing our own RA event at Seattle's Decibel Festival, appearing at a Hyperdub showcase in San Francisco and then finishing up the month at The Void in San Diego. She's booked for Pittsburgh's VIA Festival, and her final trio of gigs will see her join another Hyperdub night in Montreal, a Lazerpop party in Brooklyn, and finally, two weeks later, a sole date in Boise, Idaho.
