  • Intimate Productions will celebrate the tenth anniversary of its Legendary Long Weekend events on Sunday. Now a stalwart of Vancouver's underground club scene, the long weekend parties started up ten years ago as a two-room shindig at the Lotus Hotel. Since the closure of that venue, the format and location have shifted around (including, notably, the four-room blowouts at the Waldorf Hotel). Most recently, they've ended up at new nightclub The Imperial, which is where the tenth birthday gig, a two-room affair, will go down for the Labour Day weekend. In the past, the LLW shows have brought international names like Bill Patrick and Terry Francis, as well as supporting a grip of local artists from all sorts of genres. This weekend's "back 2 school" bash will feature mostly Vancouver residents, reaching out to Whistler beatsmith Mat The Alien and Victoria disco head Koosh to headline each room. The Main Room will also see sets from Intimate regulars Wood 'N Soo and Vinnie The Squid, while Koosh will get support from two back-to-back sets from yet more locals: Abasi and Glyn will go head-to-head, as will Andy Clockwork and Patrick Kelly.
