  • Hyperdub will release the second Laurel Halo album, Chance Of Rain. Due for release on October 28th, the album serves as a follow-up to Halo's debut record, Quarantine, which came out last year on Hyperdub. In the interim period the Michigan-born artist released an EP on Kode9's label called Behind The Green Door, which featured "raw and freeform productions that draw heavily from UK bass and techno," according to a review by RA's Stephen Worthy. Chance Of Rain sees Halo tap into her broad musical palette, incorporating elements of techno and experimental sound design. All nine tracks are refined, "fleshed-out" version of live hardware improvisations recorded in Halo's Brooklyn studio. The album's artwork is a 1970s drawing by the producer's father, who is a visual artist. RA's Ryan Keeling recently caught up with the producer to discuss her production methods for our Machine Love series—check that feature in full here. Tracklist 01. Dr. Echt 02. Oneiroi 03.
