  • Samurai Music's Samurai Horo sublabel will release a five-LP compilation called Scope on September 30th. Horo was founded by Presha back in 2011 as a vinyl-only offshoot of the then-New Zealand based label (since moved to Berlin). Named after a coveted cloak worn by Samurai messengers, the label gives artists a platform to release more experimental or progressive material away from the main Samurai imprint. So far, releases on Horo have come from producers like ASC, Sam KDC, Tokyo Prose and others. After nine releases, the tenth will take the form of a compilation spreading 20 tracks over five 12-inches. The set features new songs from Horo regulars including FIS (the former Breaking Through star whose debut was also the label's first release), Clarity, Indigo, ASC and Sam KDC. Other producers tapped for Scope include Japanese artist Ena, Kiyoko (a collaborative project that features Synkro), Commercial Suicide head Klute, Auxiliary associates Synth Sense and a collaboration between Consequence, Loxy and Resound. Horo will break its vinyl-only policy for Horo: the compilation will also come on CD and digital. However, the CD will be missing five tracks available only on the vinyl version, while the digital edition will have four exclusive tunes of its own.
