  • RA will stage an event at Leeds nightspot Canal Mills as part of the venue's reopening weekend. The club, which is now in its second year, will reopen at the end of September after closing for the summer. During its first 12 months, Canal Mills became known as one of Leeds foremost spots for forward-thinking club music, with parties regularly hosted by respected promoters like Mono_cult, Wax:On and Metropolis. The club will host a weekend's worth of music to mark its reopening, beginning on Friday, September 27th, with RA's return to Leeds. The main room's headlining trio of Four Tet, Prins Thomas and Andrés each route their club sets in house music but are equally fond of exploring sounds well beyond the genre. They'll be joined by emerging Black Acre Records artist Romare, who will play live, and The Sonic Emporium. The second room will be headed up by Rinse FM's Oneman, another DJ who packs his record bag with an open mind. Norwegian up-and-comer Cashmere Cat, Mike Jones, Joe Stenhouse and RA's Hugh Taylor complete the bill. Moving on to Saturday night, and Canal Mills will be in control. They've lined up a house-heavy bill that sees former Radio 1 DJ Heidi take up the headlining slot. UK DJs Huxley and Richy Ahmed will also be manning the decks, with San Soda and Red D linking up as FCL for a live set, and People Get Real providing the warmup. Tickets for Canal Mills' opening weekend are available through RA Tickets.
