No. 19 Music will release its Summer 2013 Sampler on August 26th.
The label was started in Toronto back in 2008 by Art Department's Jonny White and his fellow local DJ Nitin, and has since become a reliable outlet for the bass-heavy, loopy house peddled by those artists. And though there's a definite emphasis on spotlighting local Toronto talent, in its few years of operation No. 19 has released music from artists like Jimmy Edgar, Tanner Ross, Ali Love and Maceo Plex, along with several compilations.
Summer 2013 Sampler is the latest of those, and it follows in the wake of a spring sampler, which was released in April. This digital-only collection will feature material from label stalwarts and newcomers alike. In addition to new tracks from Tone Of Arc and Toronto's own My Favorite Robot, Kenny Glasgow—another Art Department member—will team up with Deniz Kurtel for "Sickness." British producer Eric Volta will make his No. 19 debut, along with tracks from the imprint's two newest artists, Miami's Clayton Steele and Birmingham's Jakkin Rabbit.
