  • Floating Points will hit the US and Canada for six total shows across two weekends in early August. The genre-hopping, London-based DJ and Plastic People resident (real name Sam Shepherd) will stick to the eastern half of North America on this tour, first touching down in Chicago to headline Smart Bar on Friday the 2nd. After that he has two sets in Montreal in as many days: one at Le Bleury-Bar à Vinyl that Saturday night as part of the two-night Vinyle Factory Festival series (Eddie C tops the bill the night before), and one at Parc Jean-Drapeau for Osheaga Festival on Sunday afternoon, whose lineup for the day also features New Order, Hot Chip and Jackmaster, among others. Next up, on Thursday the 8th Floating Points will head to Philadelphia to play the recently renovated Dolphin Tavern. The following night he'll go to Brooklyn, where he and locally based FaltyDL (another DJ well known for his eclectic selections) will have the decks at Output to themselves all night. Finally, Shepherd will swing through Toronto on Saturday the 10th, winding down the tour with a set at the Visions night at BLK BOX. Tickets to see Floating Points at Le Bleury-Bar à Vinyle in Montreal, Output in Brooklyn, and BLK BOX in Toronto are available on RA.
