- The August release of the double-ten-inch, featuring guest appearances from Danny Brown and Flowdan, paves the way for a forthcoming LP.
The Bug has a new EP on the way for Ninja Tune this August called Filthy.
Kevin Martin's most famous alias both preceded and outlived the classic dubstep era, and his hefty, soundsystem-inspired bass tunes look to be continuing apace. Beyond furthering their signature sound, The Bug records are in large part defined by their collaborators, and Filthy, spread across two ten-inches, features a handful of big names. Detroit oddball rapper Danny Brown, along with Martin's King Midas Sound vocalist Kiki Hitomi, appear on "Freakshow," while dancehall veteran Daddy Freddy sits in on "Kill Them." Grime artist Flowdan features on both "Dirty" (as heard on Kode9's Rinse 22 mix) and "Louder." We'll find even more guests on The Bug's forthcoming LP Angels & Devils: Gonjasufi, Death Grips and Hype Williams' Inga Copeland are all slated to appear.
